Our story

The host we
wished existed.

Web7 Technologies is a small, independent hosting company in Albuquerque, New Mexico. It started with a career in cybersecurity, a technology built to make security scans faster, and a question: what would that technology do for web hosting?

Meet the founder

Zig Warner

Founder, Web7 Technologies

Zig Warner has spent a lifelong career in IT, with a focus on cybersecurity. Before founding Web7, Zig was IT Director for a global cybersecurity company, building infrastructure for its security teams and helping more than 100 government agencies improve their security posture.

Along the way, Zig built acceleration technology to speed up security scans, then discovered what it could do for web hosting. That's the story below.

Outside of Web7, Zig shares tech content with more than 100,000 followers on TikTok.

How Web7 started

The story, in Zig's words.

Secure · Trusted by government

100+

government agencies trusted Zig to help strengthen their security posture

That same experience now goes into protecting every Web7 server, and every site on it.

01

Built for security teams

I've spent my whole career in IT, most of it focused on cybersecurity. At the peak of it, I was IT Director for a global cybersecurity company, where I helped more than 100 government agencies improve their security posture. I supported and helped build the infrastructure behind our penetration testing team, our security operations center (SOC) and our security analysts.

I worked most closely with our vulnerability management team, building secure networks our clients used to run vulnerability scans.

02

Making slow scans fast

Security scans are slow. They take a lot of time to run. So in my own free time, I developed custom hardware and software acceleration technology to dramatically speed them up.

03

A test on web hosting

I've always loved server hosting, so I got curious: what would happen if I used that same acceleration technology for web hosting?

We had a third party test it. A single server handled 5,000 visitors per second without any issues. At the time, the highest figure published by the large hosting companies was 2,000 visitors per second. From one server, we had more than double. That's when I knew this technology needed to go to market.

04

Why Web7 exists

During my years in cybersecurity, I'd worked with hosting companies and seen case after case of how badly many of them handled security. I knew I could build hosting that was both extremely secure and fast.

That was the moment Web7 was born.

05

Just getting started

We're a bootstrapped company, and we rely on our customers for funding. No investors, no outside money. We still have plenty of innovation up our sleeves, and we'll introduce it as we grow.

What we believe

The rules we run Web7 by.

CUSTOMERS FIRST

Customers, not investors

We're bootstrapped. Every decision answers to the people we host, not to outside investors.

SECURITY

Security from day one

Four firewalls from different vendors, fast patching and backups you can restore but an attacker can't delete.

How we secure every server →

HONESTY

Honest specs

We publish exactly what each plan includes and what every spec means. No padded numbers, no "unlimited" fine print.

What our specs mean →

OWNERSHIP

We own the metal

Our servers are ours, built and run by our team. We don't white-label or resell anyone else's hosting.

COMMUNITY

A good neighbor

A small power footprint, closed-loop cooling and a plan for solar. Not that kind of data center.

Hosting vs. AI data centers →

GIVING BACK

Hosting for good causes

Starting in 2027, we plan to donate server resources to nonprofits, including groups focused on autism, ADHD and mental health.
